Şekerbank, founded in Eskişehir in 1953 as the Beet Cooperatives Bank and serving customers through 312 branches today, chose D-CAT Technologies as its partner for a business intelligence project aimed at maximum efficiency.
Challenge
Şekerbank used SAP BusinessObjects Business Intelligence Platform 3.1 as its decision support system, in two separate environments. The goal was to upgrade the platform to version 4.1, bring both environments under one roof and resolve existing performance problems.
What we did
The SAP BI 4.1 migration project started in March 2014 and was run by the D-CAT business intelligence team, drawing on its expertise across the SAP BusinessObjects product family.
- The business intelligence platforms in two separate SAP BI 3.1 environments were brought under one roof.
- All reports were migrated to SAP BI 4.1.
- SAP BI 4.1 was installed as a cluster on a 64-bit architecture.
- 10,000 reports were tested during the migration.
Result
The project took 80 person-days in total and was completed in 3 months. Users now reach their reports from a single platform, and the 64-bit SAP BI 4.1 cluster put an end to the earlier performance problems.
